
The Ministry of Education has endorsed the Academy’s 40-hour BePeace course for teachers, who receive continuing education credits for completing the course.
The Association of Businesses for Development (AED), which is associated with the International United Way, is partnering with the Academy for Peace to make Santa Ana the first model BePeace county in Costa Rica.
In September 2005, the Academy for Peace received first place, among 79 projects from 32 countries, for the prestigious Changemakers Innovation Award: Building a More Ethical Society. This award was sponsored by the international Ashoka Foundation.
